Merit in New York State

Merit has now been made by the DEC a restricted use product which can only be bought and sold by liscenced pesticide applicators and will no longer be sold retail to homeowners.

37th Annual Professional Turf and Plant Conference

The Nassau Suffolk Landscape Gardeners Association will have their Annual Turf and Plant Conference on Tuesday, March 1st 2005 at the Huntington Townhouse.

Pesticide Applicator Apprentice Course

There will be an 8 hour Apprentice course held on Monday, February 28th at the Huntington Townhouse. After getting your Pesticide Applicator Apprentice permit you must be sponsored by someone who is a full Certified Applicator before moving on to earn your full pesticide liscence. Pesticide Certification Course

The 2 day and 1 night ( 30 hour Pesticide Course ) will begin the week of January 10th 2005 - place to be announced. For More information call the NSLGA office at 631-665-2250.

Conference Meeting

The Start Up Meeting for the 2005 Conference will be held on Wednesday August 25th at 7:30pm. It will be held at the NSLGA Office on 25 Korol Street in Bayshore. Call 631-665-2250 for information & directions.

30 Hour Pesticide Cert Course

The NSLGA will be sponsoring a 30 hour pesticide certification training course to prepare applicators to take the Commercial & Private Applicators exam. Class Schedule : Thursday September 23rd, Thursday September 30th, Tuesday October 5th, Thursday October 7th, Tuesday October 12th, Thursday October 14th, Tuesday October 19th, Thursday October 21. NSLGA Joint meeting

University of Rhode Island Trip

Take a trip to the University of Rhode Island Turfgrass Research Center on August 22, 2004. Bus leaves at 7:00 a.m. and will return at 5:30 p.m. This day trip is hosted by the New York State Turf & Landscape Association. For more information call 914-993-9455.

Andy’s Backyard

The NSLGA traditional Andy’s Backyard event will be held on July 20th. Unwind with your fellow landscapers and maybe learn a little something too. For more information call the NSLGA.
